With Lucida, you can:

  • Create a flexible and rewarding career in your local area or a new region of the country.
  • Design a custom compensation/benefits program for you, including a free health, dental and life insurance plan (see insurance benefits section for details).
  • Participate in our 401K plan.
  • Secure, free, safe accommodations near your workplace.
  • Enhance your expertise --and build your resume--at some of the best facilities in the country with some of the brightest professionals in your specialty.
  • Work when, where and how you choose.
  • Meet new people and enjoy new friendships.
  • Check out a new city before making a permanent relocation decision.

Whatever your motivations, we’ll locate an assignment that matches your chosen specialty, career objectives, and lifestyle.

What You Should Know

For the last 30 years, progressive health care organizations have recognized travelers’ importance in their overall staffing strategy.  Here are a few things you should know about healthcare travel assignments at Lucida:

  • Travel assignments are most often 8 to 13 weeks long, although they can be extended up to 26 weeks.
  • You’ll be provided with a generous travel allowance for trips to and from your assignment.
  • While on assignment, you’ll be on the Lucida payroll and paid bi-weekly (direct-deposit and paychecks via overnight mail are available).
  • Lucida offers many outstanding benefits and incentives—some jobs even include a completion bonus.
  • Before you go on an assignment, we arrange private accommodations for you that will be free, safe and close to your workplace.
  • Many of our housing options offer pools, spas, fitness centers and tennis courts.
  • If you opt to arrange your own accommodations, we’ll provide you with a generous housing subsidy.
  • You’re never required to sign any long-term contracts or pay any fees for our assistance. We only ask that you honor your commitment for the length of your agreed-upon assignment.
When your assignment ends, you’re free to do as you please. You can extend at the same facility, apply for a permanent position, take another assignment in another location, or return to your permanent home.

Become a Healthcare Traveler in Five Easy Steps

1. Apply - How is up to you. You can apply right now and get us your basic information.  Or download the application from our website, fill it out, and fax it back. Or you can call us at 877-582-4321 and apply over the phone. Completing an application does not obligate you to travel, but it is a necessary first step.

2. Design Your “Dream” Assignment - Once your application is accepted, you’ll be assigned a personal Career Advisor. You and your Advisor will work together to find the assignments that best meet your personal and professional goals. Simply tell your Career Advisor where you want to travel, what kind of facility you prefer and your desired shifts. We encourage you to share your preferences for compensation/benefits, housing and any personal preferences. Your Career Advisor then works with you to find the position best suited to meet your dreams.

3. Interview -Once your Career Advisor has found the position you want, your candidacy will be presented and a telephone interview arranged. Your Career Advisor will help you prepare for the interview with specific information, guidance and encouragement—all designed to help you land the position on your terms.

4. Acceptance - Congratulations, you’ve got the assignment! Now Lucida will assist you with your credentialing requirements and licensing. We’ll also have our housing department arrange your accommodations, including setting up utilities and furniture delivery.

5. Take Off! - Get set to enter a new world of adventure, friendships and career-enhancing opportunities. Lucida will be with you every step of the way.

Our support team will manage all the logistics to make your transition easy and pleasant for you. We’ll even assist you with directions to your destination and information on what to do and see when you get there.
